Death in Painting

He knelt before the painting, weeping, 'She's dead.' The police looked at the portrait of the woman on the wall, silent for a moment, then said, 'Where is the body?' He shook his head, 'She never existed.' Days later, he jumped to his death. Autopsy report: cardiac arrest, no signs of suicide. The woman in the painting, with slightly altered features, now resembled him at the time of his death.
