John and Tom

'You must kill Tom.' These words appeared out of nowhere on my ceiling one day. I quickly wiped them away, but the next day, they reappeared. I didn't know Tom, but once I understood where these words came from, I started looking for him. About 10 years passed, and it was 2010. I finally found Tom and stabbed him to death. Before he died, he looked at me in disbelief: 'John?' Perhaps because I touched him, his body strangely disappeared. A month before my own death, I finally understood why I had to kill Tom. I put down the first newspaper of the new century and went to do what should have been done long ago.
